Carefully wrap this tissue paper around the outside of the tube, extending it over the top edge and gently pushing it down inside. Your objective is to fully encase the tube, ensuring no cardboard remains visible. Secure the tissue paper in place using small dabs of hot glue or another suitable craft adhesive. If any excess paper protrudes from the bottom edge, simply trim it cleanly with scissors for a neat finish.
8. With your tube prepared, retrieve the tissue paper petals you crafted earlier. Begin wrapping this strip around the outside of the covered toilet paper tube, securing it with hot glue as you go. It’s crucial to apply the glue only along the *bottom edge* of the petal strip. This allows the top portions of the petals to remain free, giving you the flexibility to gently fluff them out later, creating a realistic, three-dimensional flower blossom effect. Overlap the petal strip as you wrap to build layers and achieve a fuller look.
9. Once the glue has completely dried, it’s time for the magical transformation! Gently and carefully pull the individual petals away from the toilet paper tube. Fan them out, arranging and shaping them to create the appearance of a blossoming flower. Experiment with their positions until you achieve a natural, voluminous, and visually appealing flower head. 10. After successfully completing the previous step, your charming basket should now clearly resemble a vibrant flower, with its petals beautifully fluffed and arranged. At this point, the main body of your unique one-egg Easter basket is complete, showcasing your handiwork.
11. To add another layer of realism to your floral basket, you will now create the sepals – those distinctive green leaf-like structures that cup the base of a flower. This process mirrors how you created the flower petals: simply cut a strip of green tissue paper, then fashion a zigzag or pointy pattern along its top edge. 12. Just as you attached the petals, use hot glue to secure the green sepal strip around the lower part of the toilet paper tube, beneath the fluffed petals. Work your way around the entire circumference, ensuring the sepals are evenly spaced and adhere securely to the base. This step grounds your flower design and completes its natural look, making it unmistakably a beautiful bloom.
13. Finally, it’s time to add the charming handle that will complete your Easter basket. To do this, cut two thin, small strips of tissue paper. For an extra touch of visual interest and to complement the rest of your design, I highly recommend using alternating colors – for instance, red and green, mirroring the petal and sepal colors. Gently twist and wrap these two strips around each other, forming a sturdy yet elegant handle. Critically, ensure you make the handle long enough and flexible enough that you can easily push an egg under it to place it into the basket or retrieve it later without damaging your beautiful creation.
14. Once your twisted handle is ready, use dabs of hot glue to securely attach each end to opposite sides of your flower basket. Hold firmly until the glue sets. With the handle in place, your magnificent flower-shaped one-egg Easter basket is now complete!
